Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg, raised in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played the character in The Piano. In response to an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who moved from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. At the age of a teen, her family moved from Canadian to United States. Paquin started her acting career when she was a kid, with the part as the Jane Eyre main character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre, and then she played a significant role of Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 in which she played the queen of Spain in a less prominent role. She played teenagers as teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
