Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. At 21 she became president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. The success of her columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she finished her degree. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided critiques of the state of the nation's politics. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several celebrities to contribute their opinion about current affairs, culture and politics. Arianna became famous during 2003 when she volunteered in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. She was also involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential woman" in media with her ranking at the 12th spot. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 most influential media people in 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many then-existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a management and journalism consultant. Even though she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the course of her entire life. Even in her formative age she showed the qualities of a leader and is a household name. At the age of 16, she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only president from outside the country. In 1972, she graduated with a Masters in Economics. She was a journalist as well as a host on TV and columnist upon her graduation. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing her own books with his aid.
