Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She is the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England at age sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. She was the first student who was not from the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following graduation, she left her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later she created an online voice platform that provided critical views on the political scenario. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna's popularity began in 2003, when she became an independent candidate for the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. Additionally, she led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th place on the list and in the same year the Guardian listed her on the top 100 of media lists. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. She was then made the President of the media division at AOL. The group included several AOL-owned properties, such as Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter born to Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. They were very close to her father, but it was her relationship with her mother which formed her. Through her early times, she demonstrated the qualities of a leader for which her name is still well-known. At the age of 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only foreign president. In 1972 she received a degree in Economics. Following after graduation she was a critic columnist and television host. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began writing her own books with his help.
